Impact Grants
Q: If
my organization applies for an Impact Grant, may we also apply for
a smaller “regular” grant?
A: Yes – if
you do not receive the Impact Grant. In most cases, if we cannot
award the Impact Grant, we will try to grant a smaller amount to
your organization. To be on the safe side, when applying for the
Impact Grant, we advise that you also submit an application for a
smaller grant for us to consider, in the event that we cannot fund
the Impact Grant.
“Regular” Grants
Q: Do you award multi-year grants?
A: Yes. Most of our Impact Grants are spread over 2 or 3 years,
and occasionally we do the same with a smaller grant, particularly
in this economic climate. Our 2009 grant to Dobama Theatre is
an example.
Q: Do you ever award grants at times other than your normal funding
cycles?
A: Yes, if there is clearly an emergency need for
such a grant. In March of 2009, for example, we awarded an emergency
grant to the Beck
Center to help insure its financial survival.
Q: May we apply for more than one grant within the same
year?
A: No.
If you receive a grant from us, you must wait twelve months to apply
for another one. If your request is denied at one funding
meeting, however, you may reapply at the next one. For example, if
you submit an application for consideration at our June meeting and
are not granted funding, you may reapply for consideration at our November
meeting.
